Sunday, April 6

Please join is at First Baptist to worship on this fifth Sunday of Lent.

  • This is a Communion Sunday so if you are joining us via Zoom and wish to participate please have your elements (Bread and Juice/Wine) available;
  • Pastor Debbie’s message is titled The Costs of Love;
  • The New Creation Singers will provide Special Music, singing an arrangement of No Longer Slaves by Jonathan Helser, Brian Johnson and Joel Case; and
  • We will adjourn to the Community Room for a time of Fellowship following the worship service (or in Breakout Rooms for those attending via Zoom), followed by our Education Hour. This Sunday and throughout Lent, our Adult Education class will be exploring the Christian understanding and practice of nonviolence and what it means for us as individuals and as members of the church, national, and global communities of which we are a part.  As a framework and guide for our discussion, we will be reading Walter Wink’s book, Jesus and Nonviolence: A Third Way. Reading the book is not necessary for participation in the discussion.  All are welcome!

Sermon Recordings

As usual, audio versions of the Scripture Reading and Message of this service will be posted on the Recorded Sermons page under this tab shortly after the conclusion of the service.
